Videos on the official Metallica Facebook and Instagram accounts are teasing the announcement of their latest concert on Monday. Today, UTEP’s Office of Special Events joined the promotions with a teaser of their own that hints at a concert at the Don Haskins Center.

The short 13-second video clip shows an empty Don Haskins Center with the jumbo screens being overtaken by static and then the words “MONDAY,” with the famous Metallica “M” glitch appearing just before it ends. The American heavy metal band has performed every year since the group began in 1982, including four shows in El Paso. The first in March of 1985 at The Big Apple Night Club, the second at the County Coliseum in May 1986, the third at UTEP in January 1989 and their last show in El Paso was on January 31, 1992.

Check back on, and all of our social media platforms for the updates on the announcement on Monday.
