Two El Paso theaters have earned their spots among the top 200 for attendance and ticket sales in 2017 by Pollstar.
The Plaza Theater ranked in the top 100, landing a spot at number 81 with 103,973 attendees for the year. The Abraham Chavez Theatre placed at number 171 with 35,467 patrons. All figures calculated were for tickets sold worldwide as reported to Pollstar for shows played from January 1 to December 31 of 2017.
“We are extremely proud that our theatres ranked in Pollstar’s ‘Top 200 List,’” said Brian Crowe, General Manager of Destination El Paso. “El Paso is being recognized nationally and internationally as a city where the community supports concerts, musical theatre and events which leads to more quality entertainment for the border region.”
The city-owned Plaza Theatre and Abraham Chavez Theatre are managed by the El Paso Live division of Destination El Paso. Other venues managed by El Paso Live the include the Philanthropy Theatre, Cohen Stadium, the El Paso Convention Center, the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre and the Arts Festival Plaza.
