You don’t need to drive too far if you live in El Paso and want to go ice skating this season.
There are three spots in town that are open to the public this year. See below for details on each spot.
Winterfest brings an outdoor ice rink to downtown for the second year. Aside from the skating, guests can warm up inside while grabbing some favorite Mexican holiday food, such as bunuelos and champurrado. Bring your date for a perfect Instagram photo inside the life-size snow globe!
1 Arts Festival Plaza, downtown • November 18 – January 1
Tickets: $8 general admission, $7 military, $5 for ages five and under; $35 season pass. Free to watch. Each session is one hour and includes a skate rental. For schedule and more info visit here.
2. Promenade Ice Pond
8889 Gateway Blvd W • November 17 – January 1
Take some time away from the shopping and skate all day long at the Fountains at Farah Ice Pond.
Tickets: $14 general admission, $10 military/seniors/students, $9 kids. Free to watch. Sessions last all day long and include skate rental. For schedule and more info visit here or 915-400-9875.
3. El Paso Hockey
4100 E Paisano Dr • November 17 – January 28
The El Paso County Coliseum Events Center opens their ice rink to the public year round on the weekends and every day beginning on December 16. The skating rink is indoors and is the largest of all three.
Tickets: $10 general admission, $8 military. The session includes two hours and skate rental. More info.
