There will be four movies available to watch for free this weekend in El Paso.
The first showing is The Lego Batman Movie at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, September 8 at McKellington Canyon Amphitheater. The movie is shown on a jumbo inflated movie screen on the stage. There are also 1,500 seats and refreshments are available for purchase. No pets or outside food and drinks allowed.
Saturday, September 9 Screenings
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will be screening El Siglo de Oro: Enamorada for free at 4:30 p.m. The 1946 film is about a macho rebel general that falls in love with the independent-minded daughter of an aristocrat in the town he is occupying. This screening is part of the El Siglo de Oro series, highlighting the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. You can reserve your seat with a $5 food and beverage voucher here. Ages: 18 and up; children 6 and up will be allowed only with an adult. No children under the age of 6 will be allowed.
At 7:30 p.m., the Fountains at Farah will show Moana on a jumbo screen located at the amphitheater. Guests will be able to watch from the lawn, so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and a snack or two. All ages are welcome.
Doctor Strange will be shown at 8 p.m. at McKellington Canyon Amphitheater. It will be shown on an inflatable screen. Popcorn and refreshments are available for purchase at the concession stands. No pets or outside food and drinks will be allowed.
