It’s one of Juarez’s premiere events of the year, where tens of thousands of people from both sides of the border attend to catch a ride on the Mega King Tower, the world’s tallest mobile drop tower – so tall, it’s visible across the border several miles in El Paso.
It returns on September 29 to October 30 at the Plaza de la Mexicanidad, home to the huge red X in Juarez. In addition to the Mega King Tower, guests will be treated to a large variety of fair rides that travel from all the world to participate in the event, such as three roller coasters, a giant carousel, and the Global wheel “wheel of fortune” Ferris Wheel from Italy. This years event will feature a mobile zip line that will travel more than 400 yards and 25 feet in the air.
A number of big name artists are also expected to perform. Singer Yuridia will kick off the festivities on September 29, band San José de Mesillas will perform the next day. Calibre 50 will perform on October 6th, Conjunto Primavera on the 7th, and then a much-anticipated show by Julión Álvarez on October 8th.
Aside from the rides and live entertainment, 39 local restaurants and 181 various vendors will fill the streets. There will also be 35 free mechanical games, as well as a free circus show, with paid admission.
The event was renamed Feria Arriba Juárez this year and the official logo was updated to honor the late singer-songwriter, Juan Gabriel.
Admission to the event is will be fifty pesos, or about $3. Concert tickets range in price per show and may be purchased at donboleton.com
