Latin pop group Reik is making a return to the Abraham Chavez Theater on November 18.
The group originated in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico in 2004 and consists of three men; Jesús Alberto Navarro Rosas, Julio Ramírez Eguía, and Gilberto Marín Espinoza, all original members. The band’s name actually means rake, which is a way to play the guitar, however, they wanted fans to pronounce their name correctly, hence, Reik.
The group has a strong social following, with nearly 2 billion video views on Youtube alone. Recently, Reik has been experimenting with new music, thanks to current worldwide trends.
“It’s fantastic to be able to allow yourself as an artist to experiment and grow, because people grow, we mature and our restlessness is driven in new directions,” the guitarist of the pop band, Julio Ramirez, told El Paso 411 in an interview.
Tickets to the show go on sale Friday, July 28 at 10 at all Ticketmaster outlets. Prices were not available at the time of publication.
