It’s time to grab the tents, we’re going camping — in the city!

El Paso’s Park and Recreation Department is hosting an Outdoor Adventure Campout on Friday, July 14 at Memorial Park, 3100 Copper Ave. The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 10 a.m. the next day, Saturday morning. Memorial Park closes to the public at 11 p.m. every night, however, registered participants will be allowed to stay for the event.

“The campout encourages participants to stay overnight in the park and will include swimming across the street at Memorial Pool, in addition to a variety of family-oriented activities,” said a city announcement. “Families must provide their own tents, food, refreshments, (no alcohol) and supplies.”

The registration fee for the campout is $5 per child (17 years of age and younger) and $10 per adult. Camp spaces in the park will be on a first come-first served basis and are available by calling 915-544-0753
