The cheesy mystery has been solved.

Chico’s Tacos was forced to change their cheese after more than sixty years thanks to their distributor. According to the Mora family, owners of Chico’s Tacos, they’ve been working with the same distributor for decades, T & J Distributing Inc. of El Paso. The company also supplies those famous paper plates that also changed about two years ago. Unfortunately, the original cheese has been discontinued. The new queso? It’s from Wisconsin… where they make real cheddar cheese.

The Mora family says this is the new main supply that is as close as it gets to that thin cheese we love. So, for now, we all have to get used to the new Chico’s Tacos cheese. Mystery solved by El Paso 411.
