Tens of thousands of people have seen the popular monument up close and personal.
The annual pilgrimage isn’t until October 29, 2017, however, dozens of people still make the trek up Mount Cristo Rey on Good Friday.
If you’ve been there, you’ve seen how amazing the monument is up close and personal. A new drone video provides us an even closer view of Mount Cristo Rey. The 29-foot tall limestone statue of Christ has stood proudly over Sunland Park, New Mexico since 1939. The new footage takes us face to face with the statue. It was filmed by El Pasoan Derek Spear.
The Annual Easter Pilgrimage is Sunday, October 29. Gates open at 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free, however, donations to help maintain the property are always appreciated.
