A four-acre resort complete with a massive water slide and lazy river is coming to west El Paso.

It will be located at the 300-acre Monticello village where Alamo Drafthouse opened a year ago and where other large-scale projects, such as Top Golf are currently under way. Plans call for a Marriot-brand hotel, an event center with a 400 guest capacity, a day club with three “large restaurants” with covered patios.

A waterpark will also be built. It will include a splash pad, a pool with a lazy river, which is generally a slow current, usually just enough to allow guests to gently ride along lying on rafts. Other amenities include a business center, fitness yoga rooms, a kitchen that will offer free cooking lessons, a bar area, concierge desk and private lounge areas.

Construction will begin in six months, according to the Monticello Facebook page.
