Giant Easter bunnies, candy and thousands of smiling faces will line Diana street in Northeast El Paso this weekend.
The annual Transmountain Optimist NorthEaster Parade is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15. The parade has been around since 1978 and has featured hundreds of Easter-themed entries. More than eighty floats, marching bands, residents, and businesses plan to march down the 1.5-mile route this year.
The parade route begins at Magoffin Middle School, located at Hercules and Diana and will continue down Diana to Dyer, where it will end at the northeast bus transfer station.
This year’s Grand Marshall will be El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser.
