After a month of problems, El Paso’s mountain star is shining brightly once again.

The El Paso Chamber of Commerce says that El Paso Electric stepped up earlier this week to expedite the repair process of the beloved star after El Paso 411 reported that it had been experiencing power issues which lead to several nights of the star not being turned on.

The star has been on nearly every single night since 1991.

A switch that is attached to a transformer on the mountain malfunctioned about a month ago, leaving crew members no choice but to hike up the mountain and light up the star manually. According to the El Paso Chamber of Commerce, the switch has been fixed and the star should remain lit every night from now on.
