It’s February, which means it’s time to start planning your Valentine’s date(s).
Whether you are married, in a long term relationship or simply looking to treat that special someone out on a night on the town, check out some ideas that are sure to give them that lasting impression that you want.
You don’t have to take our loved one out to all of these locations in one day, however they’re all cool ideas for a random surprise here and there.
1. El Paso Zoo
El Paso Zoo sits on 35 acres of fun and adventure. The zoo is great way to spend time with your special one while you both check out more than 220 species. The zoo will also have special Valentine’s treats all day for the animals.
Valentine’s Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2. Wyler Ariel Tramway
The Wyler Aerial Tramway at Franklin Mountains State Park features an aerial cable car situated on 195.742 acres of rugged mountain and rock formations on the east side of the Franklin Mountains. Take your date up to the mountain and enjoy the view of 7,000 square miles encompassing three states and two nations.
Valentine’s Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
3. Circa 1963
If you’re looking for a spot where you and your boo can enjoy delicious drinks and a view, you’ll want to stop by the new Circa 1963 bar inside the new Hotel Indigo in downtown El Paso. The bar features Modern Mixology, to make your experience one of a kind. Enjoy your drinks while checking out the gorgeous sights of downtown El Paso.
Valentine’s Hours: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
4. Licon Dairy
One of El Paso’s few petting zoo’s, Licon Dairy offers an opportunity to see unique animals such as camels, buffalos and ostriches. Grab some homemade Mexican style string cheese on your way out for an extra (delicious) memory of your wonderful date.
Valentine’s Hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
5. Scenic Drive
Of course, one of El Paso’s most popular romantic spots — Scenic Drive. Drive up the mountain and park at the top while you two enjoy the stunning views of El Paso and Juarez. Arrive before sunset to make the experience extra romantic.
Valentine’s Hours: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (sunset)
6. Cattleman’s Steakhouse
Choosing a restaurant wasn’t easy. However, one of my favorites that doesn’t require a reservation is Cattleman’s Steakhouse. This cowboy-style chophouse on a working ranch in the Texas desert serving up big steaks, BBQ & seafood. They do not take reservations, so it’s first come, first served. The downside? The wait is 2-3 hours to be seated. However if you’re truly trying to impress your date and have a great meal, this is the place to go.
Valentine’s Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
