El Pasoans don’t have to look far for a chance to fish this winter season.
Hideaway Lakes, one of our area’s several options for fishing, is open and stocked with catfish for the winter. The privately owned lake is located in Tornillo, Texas, or about 45 minutes from downtown El Paso. Winter hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, they’re closed on Tuesdays from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday. Visitors can also bring their own RV or tent and camp out overnight.
Entry to the lake is $10 per vehicle and $10 per fishing pole. No fishing permit is required as this is a private lake. Be sure to call them before heading out to check out current conditions. For more information, contact Hideaway Lakes on their Facebook page “HideAway Lakes.”
