The El Paso Zoo is about to get even better.
Construction crews have been hard at work building a new 300-seat amphitheater, which will be home to Wings of the World, the El Paso Zoo’s one-of-a-kind free flight bird show. Daily showings are expected to begin on December 17.
The venue will be the second amphitheater for the zoo. The sea lion exhibit was opened to the public in 2004. It seats 200 guests.
At the wildlife theater, zoo guests will be able to discover the majesty of animals up close. The open theater will have approximately 4,900 square feet of seating area. It will provide guests shows such as the flighted bird and animal encounters, in addition to lectures, concerts and more.
Additionally, the project includes animal living spaces for reptiles, mammals, birds and invertebrates, including new animals, both for the shows and the education programs.
