Friday, December 4

Fred Loya Christmas Light Show – The impressive house the size of a city block, covered in 450,000+ technicolor lights, spotlights and ornaments synced to music has three showings tonight; 6, 7 and 8 p.m. All are free and come included with hot cocoa, cookies and photos with Santa! The house is located at 12001 Paseo de Oro. Park at Montwood High School.

San Elizario ChritKindle Market/Tree Lighting – The Christmas holiday market takes place in the heart of the San Elizario Historic Art District, 1501 Main st, San Elizario, TX, and offers unique crafts and gifts for sale, a variety of entertainment, as well as German food and drinks. 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., tree lighting at 6 p.m. free admission.

Jay Lumen – Tech house producer performs at 301 Nightlife, 301 S. Ochoa. Doors open at 9 p.m., 18+ welcome. Free admission with RSVP at eventbrite.com. Admission: $10 general admission.

Friday at the Fire – Freedom Crossing hosts the weekly live entertainment at the outdoor fireplace. Sounds of Time (classic rock) performs. 6 to 11 p.m., free.

Rhinos vs Snipers – El Paso’s hockey team takes on Dallas at 7:30 p.m. at the Sierra Providence Events Center, 4100 E. Paisano. Admission: $5 – $20.

Ice Skating

Fountains at Farah – The Promenade Ice Pond open’s for the season this weekend. The outdoor rink is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. located in the Promenade lower level, in front of the Amphitheater. Admission to the skating rink is $13 for an all day pass with skate rental, or $10 without for adults and $8 for kids with skates, or $5 without.

Amusement Parks

El Paso Zoo – Step into the wild life at the El Paso Zoo, 4001 E. Paisano. Featuring 35 acres of animals, from Lions and Giraffes in Africa, to Sea Lions in the Americas, or Orangutans and Elephants in Asia. Gates: 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission: $12 ages 13 to 59, $7.50 under, $9 for seniors.

Wyler Ariel Tramway – Hop on the cable car and take a ride up the Franklin Mountains and admire the beauty of El Paso, Juarez and Las Cruces – from 5,632 feet above sea level. The Nutcracker – El Paso Youth Ballet and UTEP Present The Nutcracker at the Magoffin Auditorium, 500 W University. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Admission: $15 – $25

Horizon City Christmas Parade – Eastlake Lions Club presents “Extraordinary Inventions” at 10 a.m. Starting at Darrington and Ryderwood, heading down Horizon Blvd to Kenazo and ending at Carrol T. Welch School on McMahon.

Pecan Harvest Festival – 13th annual family-friendly harvest festival kicks off at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ramirez Pecan Farm, 13709 North Loop, Clint, TX. Enjoy fresh pecan picking from the orchard, plus a country store with pecans for sale. Food, drinks and hand made crafts will be on sale. Free admission.

Celebration of Lights Holiday Market – More than sixty local vendors will line up along the downtown pedestrian pathway north of the Judson F. Williams Convention Center, next to Southwest University Park. non-stop live entertainment, holiday-themed cooking and baking demonstrations and local foods tastings, food trucks, festive holiday photography with The Photo Bus EP, and more. Noon to 8 p.m, free admission.

Celebration of Lights Tree Lighting and Parade – El Paso’s official holiday celebration kicks off the season with the downtown tree lighting and parade at Cleveland Square Park. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. and include a fireworks display. Free admission.
