From the griddle to your taste buds, it’s National Pancake Day and we’re celebrating with El Paso’s top five best places to get some flapjacks. All of these spots are locally owned and operated. Check out the list and be sure to stop by!
1. Basico Bistro + Café
When it comes to pancakes, Basico takes the cake.. pancake that is. This simple, yet modern restaurant is located in West El Paso… A must for any pancake lover in town. The berries and mascarpone pancakes earn them the number one spot for pancakes in the city. Go check them out, you won’t regret it. $$$$
2. Ripe Eatery
Coming in at a close number two is Ripe Eatery. Made from scratch buttermilk cakes kissed with a touch of whole wheat (and a pinch of love) — this place was created to make pancakes. House favorites include blueberry-ricotta cakes and monkey cakes with banana, peanut butter and nutella (drool). $$$$
3. Crave Kitchen & Bar
Another excellent destination for pancakes in El Paso. This local establishment is well known for their brunch, and very rightfully so. Serving up flapjacks such as blueberry with lemon custard, pumpkin, and even chorizo pancakes. If that doesn’t get your tastebuds tingling, I don’t know what will! By the way, they also offer whole wheat! $$$$
4. T Coasters
“The Healthy Restaurant Choice” – T Coasters serves up delicious, yet health conscious food, including, yes… whole wheat pancakes. Their breakfast special: a pair of eggs, two pieces of turkey bacon, and of course the flappers for only three bucks! Two thumbs up! $$$$
5. New Clock Restaurant
Two words. Thick and fluffy. The New Clock Restaurant is pretty much the oldest pancake house in town, and one of the most affordable as well. Come by any time of the day for hot and made to order pancakes, plus two eggs and two pieces of bacon — all for just $2.99. $$$$
