Western Playland 2015 Season Opens this Weekend

El Paso’s only area amusement park will open for it’s 2015 season this weekend.

Western Playland will officially open for business on Saturday, February 28. The 30-acre family friendly amusement park located in Sunland Park, New Mexico features more than 25 rides and attractions; which include the popular El Bandidio roller coaster, the Hurricane, the Drop Zone, Pharaoh’s Fury and several other local favorites. The park also features a kid friendly section for children.

The Hurricane roller coster made it’s debut in 2013 after relocating from the Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk.

No new rides were added to the park this year.

Western Playland is also home to several annual events such as The KLAQ Bar-B-Q and the 4th of July Firework Spectacular. The park will be open every weekend from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays for the month of March.
