It’s official: The UTEP Miners have a new football coach. Sean Kugler, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach has accepted an offer to lead the UTEP football team.

Kugler is a familiar face to El Paso area, he spent seven years at UTEP coaching the tight ends and offensive line. Kugler has also held various coaching positions in the NFL with the Steelers, Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. Kugler has also coached at Boise State, where he served as the Broncos’ offensive line coach and assistant head coach during their undefeated 2006 season.

Additionally, CoachingSearch.com is reporting that Washington State linebackers coach Jeff Choate will be named defensive coordinator at UTEP.
