The lights are ready for the seventh annual Fred Loya Christmas Light Show in far east El Paso. Shows are expected to begin Saturday night and continue every weekend through New Year’s Eve.

The home, located at 12001 Paseo de Oro, is decorated with more than 230,000 multi-colored lights, spotlights and Christmas ornaments. The lights are synchronized to ten minutes of music, including this year’s hit song “Gangnam Style” by the south Korean superstar Psy. Officials with Fred Loya Insurance could not provide an estimated cost for this year’s production, however the 2010 show cost about $50,000.

The events are free of charge and open to the public. Hot chocolate and cookies are provided after the show. Parking is available at Montwood High School and Cross Point Church, 11995 Montwood. Organizers say they have hired extra off-duty police officers to help traffic flow in the area. Paseo de Oro Lane will be closed during all shows.
