UTEP announced today that they will begin selling beer during football and basketball games. Officials said beer would be sold for $7 per 16 oz. cup and $9 per 24 oz. cup. The decision comes as the UTEP football team(1-6) is off to it’s worse start in nine years.

“We hope it improves ticket sales and we hope it improves the fan experience,” said Richard Adauto, UTEP executive vice president. “This is something we have been looking at for several years, and we do have this mission to try to improve the quality of experience of people.”

Adauto said beer sales would be introduced at this week’s homecoming football game.
